Rents under pressure?

Rental prices of homes in a certain segment in the free sector will come under pressure due to the renewed laws and regulations for 2022.

-Maximum indexation: inflation + 1% point with a maximum of 3.3%. As of 1/1/22.

-The share of the WOZ value in the determination of the maximum rent will be maximized. The WOZ value may count for a maximum of 33% in the point total. This law is expected to enter into force in the spring of 2022.

Which could mean that the house in the current situation will meet the set points and in the new situation it will no longer meet them. There are even voices in the Lower House that want to apply this measure retroactively to current rental agreements. Let's hope it doesn't come to that!

Many homes with a living area between 50m2 and 70m2 may be affected.
